Description
Photograph caption dated May 4, 1957 reads "Hurdlers Al Baker, left, of Reseda and Rudd Schoeffel, North Hollywood, staged a nip and tuck race all the way in the 120 highs yesterday to wind up in a tie for first place in 15.2 in heat No. 2. The two are seen going over the last barrier together [pictured]. At right, official Jim Wakeman measures record height in Class C high jump with record holder Rick Mahn of Van Nuys. Van Nuys High's little 'C' jumper cleared 5 ft. 8 in. for only new Valley League field mark made at Van Nuys." See image 00162497 for additional photo in this series.
