Ned Sparks was a comedian and charactor actor born on November 19, 1883 in Ontario, Canada. Mercedes Sparks was the sister of Charles Caballero, head of the purchasing department at Fox Studios. Ned Sparks worked in stage and film and became known for his trademark deadpan expression and dry wit. He and Mercedes Caballero were married from 1931-1935. Sparks appeared in 10 Broadway productions and over 80 films. He died on April 3, 1957.
First photograph caption dated July 9, 1936 reads "Even Mrs. Sparks, above, was forced to smile at times at her ex-husband's jests. Asked about his money, Sparks said: 'I don't bother about money. I give it away.' He was asked. 'All of it?' 'Don't accuse me of being simple-minded,' he replied. He said he owned six lots in Lassen. 'And you can have them,' he declared."; Second photograph caption dated August 12, 1936 reads "Loses fight for new property pact."
