Under the proudly-waving folds of Old Glory, Memorial Day services on May 30, 1936, in honor of the nation's war dead were held at Woodlawn Cemetery in Santa Monica. The rite, one of many held at patriotic shrines and cemeteries throughout Los Angeles and Southern California, was conducted by Stephen Jackson Post, G. A. R., and MacArthur Camp of United Spanish War Veterans. Mrs. Henry Rogers is speaking, standing before the stone monument dedicated to unknown soldiers of the Civil War.
