Die weissen Flecken auf den Meerfelsen sind Austermuscheln, die sich hier in grosser Menge u. von treffllichem Geschmack vorfinden." (3. Quartalsbericht 06.10.1860: 5-6).
Note translation: "Nos 46-49 [QC-30.016.0040-0043]. Panorama of Tellicherry, seen from a rock in the sea. On the extreme left we see picture no. 45 again, shadowed by the nearest palm trees. Then follows to the right the shining white Roman Catholic chapel. You can see a flag pole between the Casarino trees. Then comes the fort and other government offices, storehouses, living quarters belonging to Europeans and to natives, especially Maplas. On the extreme right there is a fishing village where the canoes are drawn up on the beach....[not decypherable]. The white spots on the rocks by the sea [I presume he means: in the foreground] are oysters, which can be found here in large numbers and have an excellent flavour." (3rd Quarterly Report by C.G. Richter, 6.Oct,1860, pp. 5-6).
