In 1938, Father Mateo Crawley-Boevey, SSCC, gave the annual retreat to all the priests and religious of the islands stressing the enthronment of the Sacred Heart. The Sacred Heart Fathers were the first missioners to Hawaii. This devotion readily caught on."
