Description
Mrs. Knute Rockne, wife of the late Notre Dame coach, and the famous "four horsemen" of football fame, arrive in Hollywood where the gridiron stars will make their motion picture debut in Universal's "The Spririt of Notre Dame", which will star Lew Ayres. From the left: Mrs. Rockne and the "four horsemen" - Harry Stuhldreher, Don Miller, Jim Crowley, and Elmer Layden. They chose Studebaker for their transportation. The idea for the story was conceived by Rockne who was enroute to Universal City when his plane crashed. Photo dated: November 28, 1931.
