Description
We have roamed this wide world over Wherever tourists go Saw the lakes of fair Killarney And the glens of sweet Athloe We have climbed the Alpine mountains But no matter where we go, There's a lure of California Where the golden poppies grow. Chorus: California California The pride of the golden West Where the flowers grow in splendor On the plains and mountain crest We're lured back to California Where sweet scented breezes blow To the land of fruit and flowers, Where the golden poppies grow. We have wandered thru the valleys Of France and England too, We have sailed upon the waters Of the Rhine and Danube too We have been in Monte Carlo But no matter where we go, There's a lure of California Where the golden poppies grow.
