Adolfo Camarillo (1864-1958) - founder of the city of Camarillo, California - and four granddaughters sit atop five of his beautiful and famous white horses, adorned with elaborate bridles and breast collars. All horses stand side-by-side, with grandfather Camarillo sitting in the middle, and two granddaughters flanking him on either side. Mr. Camarillo appears to be dressed in a traditional charro costume, and the young women are all wearing long satin dresses with lacey bolero-type jackets. The Camarillo House, a three-story, 14-room Victorian Queen Anne style house built in 1892 by Adolfo and a crew, utilizing the designs of architects Herman Anlauf and Franklin Ward, can be seen in the background.
