Title supplied by cataloger. In the 1960s, Santa Anita Park was renovated to have a much larger grandstand and more seating. In 1968, Del Mar Racetrack relinquished its dates for a fall meeting. In response, a group of horsemen established the not-for-profit Oak Tree Racing Association, which had no facilities of its own and rented the park. Ever since that time, Oak Tree Association has operated of the autumn meet, which usually runs from the end of September until early November, at Santa Anita Park. Photograph caption dated October 7, 1979 reads, "This horse in the exercise ring at Santa Anita's Oak Tree meet may have lost his head in this picture but the jockey hung on and calmer the horse down."
