Description
The storefront of the Leo J. Meyberg household appliances store, at 1716 L Street, is captured in this 1938 photograph. The company served as northern California’s official wholesale distributor of RCA Victor and RCA Whirlpool products, opening its first store in Sacramento in 1909. The company would be an electronic appliance mainstay in Sacramento for decades, expanding into a 25,000 square-foot North Sacramento headquarters in 1959. The famous RCA Victor dog "His Master's Voice" is prominently displayed in the front window of the Spanish-style building, adorned with terra cotta roofing.
