Description
Photograph of an exterior view of the Los Angeles Central Jail, showing parked automobiles, ca.1925-1930. The Los Angeles Central Jail, a four-story stone building constructed in 1903 in a Gothic Revival-like style of architecture, can be seen at the center background. Its lower windows are covered by bars, while the windows on the upper stories are blocked by a light-colored material. A tall building sits to the left of the jail, while to its right sits a two-story commercial building. The foreground is filled by a street's paved lanes. Automobiles are parked along the edge of both sides of the street, and streetcar tracks run down its center.
