Description
A group of soldiers sitting in a line, working as telephone operators. Writing on the back of the photograph reads: "Soldiers replace the telephone girls." There are also notes in Russian, and a stamp containing Russian text. Other notes indicate that Bessie Beatty intended to use this image in her book The Red Heart of Russia.
