Photograph was edited for publication purposes; Photograph inset was used in an article dated January 25, 1960. Photograph dated December 2, 1960 shows 16-year-old Gary Drapala being comforted by dog "Queenie," after a plan to meet his teenage crush, Annette Funicello backfires. The article partially reads, "'I cut myself a little in a washroom of a service station near the studio. Then I went over to see the guard and ask him to give the poodle (a stuffed poodle he'd bought for $5) to Annette. 'I was going to double over, moaning. The guard would see the blood, and I wouldn't leave until I saw Annette. But I lost my nerve. I just gave the poodle and walked off to a hospital.'"
