Oil fields of today are not the dirty dusty "hog wallows" that motion pictures depict them to be. Photo shows the heart of the newly discovered Paloma field in California. Here the oil is gathered and separated from the natural gas. It is then stored in tanks. A man operating the valves in this photo can control production in the entire Paloma field which takes in an area of two thousand acres. Dated July 1, 1946.
