Caption printed on photo: "Woodwards Gardens 1880." Text written under photo: "Main entrance to Woodward's Gardens. Mission Street near 14th Street 1881. The street car route-along Mission St. to New Montgomery and Market St. and return." View looks northwest across Mission Street at Woodward's Gardens. The glass conservatory building and various pavilions can be seen. A crowd is gathered in front of the entrance. The Western Addition can be seen in the distance. The bobtail horsecars on Mission, whose route is described in Dobbin's caption, belonged to the City Railroad Co.
