The hospital opened in 1983 as a part of the LAMB Integrated Rural Health and Development Project, and is providing Health Care for the neighbouring community, especially poor and underprivileged people. The Project is run by an NGO of the American Santal Mission in Dinajpur, later World Mission Prayer League, USA (WMPL).
