Photograph caption dated May 2, 1957 reads, "UCLA student Mike Gesas, 4334 Greenbush Ave., Sherman Oaks, won first prize in a recent contest held by Glendale Federal Savings and Loan Association in Studio City, and is shown at right with his prize, a complete set of International silver. Manager of the Studio City association is R. L. Kitchen, left. Object of the unique contest was to approximate the number of ordinary size teaspoons it would take to make up a giant teaspoon on display. Second-place winner was Lina B. Luecke, 835 S. Oxford Ave., Los Angeles; third-place winner was Pina Braun, 12183 1/2 Ventura Blvd., Studio City."
