Photograph caption dated May 5, 1956 reads "Pasadena High's sensational sprinter Bob Poynter, nicknamed 'Swaps' after famous race horse, is shown winning the 100-yard dash, all alone, in 9.7 to tie the Foothill League record yesterday at John Burroughs. Poynter also took the 220 and anchored the relay team to a sizzling 1:28.8 which tied the loop mark. Glendale edged Pasadena for title in all-league meet after officials had to recheck the score." John Burroughs High School is in Burbank.
