Description
Permanente Corporation Cement Facility. Caption - Half a million barrels of cement are stored in these hugh silos of the Permanente Cement Company, located near SanJose, California, and a stone's throw from the Permanente Metals Corporation's big magnesium plant. Permanente was constructed by Henry J. Kaiser and his associates to fill the requirements of mighty Shasta Dam, and played a major role in the rebuilding of Pacific fortifications following Pearl Harbor.
