Photograph caption dated June 21, 1956 reads "San Fernando Valley Alumnae, Pi Beta Phi, plan to typify the Valley by an early California Missions theme for the opening reception of the national Pi Phi convention in Pasadena. Mmes. William H. Green, president, Valley Pi Phi alumnae; Clifford J. Walley, hospitality chairman, and William L. Davis III, reception chairman, inspect decorations and favors for the event."
