Description
"Opportunity in Singapore gets better all the time. When we bought the building (see above) last year, we were enabled to divide our efforts into three distinct congregations, language-wise. The English-speaking congregation meets Sunday mornings the Teochew-Cantonese in the afternoon and the Mandarin at night. The photo is of members and friends of the Teochew-Cantonese congregation, who assembled for the wedding, March 22, of two young members, Brother Chua Boon Chuah and Sister Wong Lai Yong. Brother Lye Hong Meng (seated with Ira y. Rice, Jr., right) preaches for this congregation. It is growing steadily." A group photo of the Teochew-Cantonese speaking congregation of the first Church of Christ in Singapore. This church is still in existence and is known as the Mulmein Road Church of Christ.
