“Native Teachers, Erromanga. Yomot with Glengarry bonnet died recently of measles. He is mentioned in Dr Patons in connection with the Robertsons. He was the means of saving them from being murdered.” Group portrait of indigenous men gathered around the base of a tree. Yomot of Erromanga was described as a determined man and trustworthy Christian leader. The Robertsons mentioned are probably Hugh Robertson, 1841-1914, and his wife Christina, both from Nova Scotia, they worked on Erromanga as missionaries for forty years.
