Description: Steps, with a modern handrail, lead to the "arādhana gala" (invitational rock), where the Arahat (Great Sage) Mahinda, son of the Indian Emperor Asoka, is reputed to have stood on arrival from India and later preached to the King Devānampiyatissa of Anurādhapura.
