2013-0312.
Frank Brown in 1891 commissioned photographer Herve Friend to document expansion of Bear Valley dam and water system. Between August and September he photographed Bear Valley, Redlands and Moreno Valley. Made a series of mammoth prints (14 x 17 in.) and series of 8 x 10 in. prints which were distributed as individual prints or as albums by Bear Valley Irrigation Company to potential investors.
