Description: This 1956 photograph shows the northwest corner of Sixth and J streets. Visible are Israel Schneiderman’s Big Ben Loan Office at 531 J St., the 924 Club at 924 Sixth St.and the G 'n' M Club at 526 J St. Big Ben occupied what had been the pharmacy of Cyrus Kaufman, a native of Ukraine who immigrated to the United States in 1911. Schneiderman was also of Eastern European extraction.
