Description
This circa 1975 postcard shows the Sacramento Community Center, located at Thirteenth and L streets. The venue opened on June 30, 1974, to throngs of Sacramentans and the release of 500 pigeons. The Sacramento Civic Theater's first performance at the spot was "1776." The center also included a 50,000 square-foot exhibition hall. The complex went through a 80 million dollar expansion in 1991/92.
