The Crocker Tower and its subsequent twin, the South Tower, were designed by Skidmore, Owings & Merrill and opened in 1983. When Crocker Bank merged with Wells Fargo in February 1986, this structure became the Wells Fargo Tower and the property was renamed the Wells Fargo Plaza.
Looking east from Figueroa and 4th streets on Bunker Hill in July 1981. Visible structures and details include, from left to right, a Hope Street sign, the World Trade Center, the Security Pacific Bank and Plaza, the Crocker Bank Building under construction, and the Calvin S. Hamilton Pedway.
