Description
Two women in Parisian dresses for 1829. The woman on the left has her back to the viewer. She wears a black, wide brimmed hat with blue ribbon bows and blue feathers decorating the top. She wears a pair of dangling, triple-teardrop earrings. Her dress is blue with large, puffed, white sleeves. The bodice is pleated horizontally with a vertical seam down the back. The blue skirt is plain, except for a decorative band of points hanging below a row of tucks. The points are trimmed with narrow ruffles of eyelet. She wears white ballet slippers over white stockings. The woman on the right faces the viewer. She wears a black hat with pink ribbon bows and pink feathers decorating the top. She is adorned with dangling, red, triple-teardrop earrings. Her dress is pink with long, white, sheer, puffed sleeves finished with a red gem on gold cuffs. The cuffs are trimmed with eyelet lace. She wears a pair of white gloves and holds a gold fan in one hand and a white handkerchief in the other. The bodice is pink with horizontal pleats. At the center of the bodice is a gold ornament with red teardrop gems hanging down. Midway down the skirt of the dress there is a band of diamond shaped ruffles, just like the first dress, only trimmed with narrow white, eyelet lace. She wears a pair of white ballet slippers over white stockings.
