[Portrait lumbering crews and ferry boats used to transport lumbers from one place to another taken in circa 1899] "The ferry boat crossing to the George F. Tensen Ranch opposite Oak Bar. This and similar rafts were the means of transporting lumber from sawmill, 1 mile up Doggett Creek, to the mouth of Scott River. The lumber was hauled by wagon form Mill to Dick Goggett Ferry landing, where raft was built. Raft was floated to near mouth of Scott River and the lumber again loaded on wagons and hauled to place of use which was usually the mines on Scott River or towar Hansburg. The ferry boat on opposite side of Klamath was the only means of crossing the County Road on south side to the ranch. The band out back was called the Horse Barn and the Abe Lincoln fence separated the..."
