The carriage stands beside a curb facing right. Behind the carriage is an ornate street light with a pedestal reading "1887, St. James Park", and 2 large palm trees. A man is standing on the sidewalk in the background. Caption on the negative reads: "Before the sightseeing bus, visitors saw Los Angeles by Tallyho. This photo was taken about 1900 at St. James Park."
