Description
View of a farmhouse at Bucks Ranch; date and location is unknown audio tape 11 A - 152: GMW came to Bucks Ranch to go fishing, so this photograph was taken very close to the opening day of trout season, 1927. The road in the photograph had been the main road prior to the dam construction, but a new road had been built directly through the meadow; both are now dated, as are the buildings. The large barn housed livestock, wagons, hay, and wild Timothy. The wagon in the foreground was no longer in use. The sheds to the left of the barn were used for stroking sacks of grain, and the shed to the right housed the saws, axes, and other tools used for cutting wood. The ranch house was to the left of theses buildings. At this point the ranch had already been sold (1925), and much of the stock was already gone.
