Description
Two-story frame house, picket fence, child in yard. Handwritten on verso: "House in which Arthur Peyton was born in 1872. Later was used as California Powder Works Office & family lived in house on top of hill". Powder Works established in 1861 by San Francisco capitalists in answer to lack of black powder due to Civil War. Built along San Lorenzo River two and a half miles north of Santa Cruz. 2010-5215.
