Description
"Holzspiel der Schulkinder in Baziya" ("Wooden-play of schoolchildren in Baziya"). Four children are kneeling pairwise on the ground and facing each other. Each pair is balancing a wood slat which is on their shoulders. Children are sitting and standing in multi-lines in the background, watching the pairs. The girls are wearing light-coloured dresses, the boys are wearing jackets and trousers. A girl is standing at the very front and holding a stick in her hand. She is wearing a light-coloured blouse and a dark dress.
Samuel Baudert (1879-1956), born as son of the missionary Samuel Baudert in South Africa, was mission director of the Moravian Church from 1924 to 1927 and since 1929 their bishop.
