Photograph caption dated July 27, 1959 reads, "Depths of the friendships made during the recent Valley Times European tour was proved when 100 of the tourists and their relatives and friends gathered at the Tail o' The Cock on Ventura boulevard for a reunion dinner. Enthusiasm and nostalgia were the order of the day, as the party viewed color slides of the tour in an interesting program presented by Larry Paulson, of the Valley Times, tour photographer. The trip was arranged jointly by the Valley Times, TWA and seven Valley travel agencies. Florence Edgerly, tour director, emceed the dinner with Russell A. Quisenberry, Valley Times publisher, host at the pre-dinner cocktail party. Above, left to right; Mrs. Florence Edgerly, Bill Costigan, of TWA; Carl Carstensen, business manager, Valley Times; Larry Paulson and Miss Penny Deakin, first tourist to reserve for the trip. Background and immediate foreground show blowups of tour shots taken en route by Paulson."
