Photograph caption dated July 31, 1959 reads, "Mrs. Jacoba Stoeckert and her son, Karl, 10, carefully examine unidentified shell found by Karl 50 feet from rear of their home at 10801 Arleta Ave., Pacoima. Investigating policemen didn't believe shell would explode but advised that children stay clear of missile yet to be examined by crew from police crime lab. No one knows origin of shell."
