Photograph was edited for publication purposes Constructed between 1909 and 1911 to the cost of over a million dollars, the 12-story Hall of Records at 220 N. Broadway, referenced here, was demolished in September, 1973. Photograph article dated October 27, 1960 partially reads, "Los Angeles usually does things in a big way - and the new County Hall of Administration is no exception. The Hall of Administration - largest government building in the West - is completed after seven years of planning and consruction [sic] and a cost of $25 million. More than 2,300 County employes [sic] moved from the old Hall of Records, which has been condemned for many years, into the new office building this week. The Hall of Administration, county seat for more than six million residents, will be dedicated officially at 10:30 a.m. Friday."
