Description
A spirit of courage and hope replaced despair in the hearts of quake sufferers, following the organization of systematic relief following the 1933 earthquake. This photo shows a tent city relief station established by the American Legion in a park near the wreckage of the Compton city hall, which was shaken into twisted ruin. Photo date: March 13, 1933.
