Description
Two women wear a morning dress and an evening dress from 1831. The woman on the left wears a white dress with a blue apron. The white dress has sheer leg-of-mutton sleeves and has two tiers of wide scalloped lace at the hem. Her apron has straps that create a V-shape on her bodice and tie in bows at the shoulders. She wears a blue and white, ruffled lace cap that ties in a blue ribbon under her chin. She wears white gloves and wide gold bracelets on each wrist. She holds a brown book in her left hand. The woman on the right wears a long yellow dress with a pattern of diagonal lines of gold flowers, with short puffed sleeves. She wears a white and gold belt with a rectangular gold buckle. She wears gold shoes with bows and one white glove with a scalloped hem. She wears a gold bracelet around each wrist and a long gold bead necklace that is attached to the dress at the neck. She wears long, dangling, gold earrings. She wears her hair in a bun decorated with pearls, pink roses, and a large comb. A long, white lace veil hangs from the bun. She leans her right arm on the brown table next to her and drapes her left arm over the back of a red upholstered, brown wood chair. Her feet rest on a small red and gold footstool. They are sitting in a room with green carpet with a pink floral pattern.
