Harris. Harris is owner and operator of the Holiday Soaring School, where Billy learned about flying a sailplane. But Billy, in class 8B at Northridge Junior High School, knew something about flying before the 6:40 a.m. solo. His dad, 7523 Etiwanda Ave., Reseda, has been instructing his son in flying since Billy was 10 years old." Pictured are Billy Nelson and his Schweizer 2-22c glider plane with, from left, instructor Fred Harris and Billy's father, Capt. Dale Nelson, at the Tehachapi Municipal Airport.
