Caption on back of photo: "Mr. Paul Verdier, president of the City of Paris, drops the first coin in the campaign of collecting pennies to buy a plaque for the USS San Francisco memorial. With Mr. Verdier are two of his employees (left to right) Harry Lawlor, former army captain injured at Oahu, T.H. and Frank Fahey, who saw South Pacific action with the navy. Mr. Fahey is returning to active duty with the Navy today as a Machinist Mate First Class.
