Photograph caption dated July 12, 1955 reads, "Valleyites Kenneth Smith, 18, North Hollywood, left, and David Phillips, 18, Burbank, wait in line to check valuables during processing as they became members of first class of cadets to enter U.S. Air Froce Academy at temporary Lowry Air Force Base, Denver, Col., location. Class was sworn in at ceremonies dedicating new facility."
