Photograph caption reads: "Councilman Everett Burkhalter receives a $283,000 check from County Supervisor Warren Dorn for county's share of road improvement at Laurel Canyon and Sherman Way, at the Southern Pacific railroad tracks. The exchange of money was held inside the automobile to protect the check and officials from rain". Photograph dated: Feb. 10, 1962.
