Catherine Mulholland, holding two of the books she has written about herself and her family. She was photographed here as she stood in front of the Mulholland Drive sign, which was named in honor of her famous grandfather. Catherine is the granddaughter of one of the most influential figures in Southern California history: William Mulholland, the engineer who was responsible for designing and creating the controversial, 240-mile Owens Valley Aqueduct that tapped into the lush Owen Valley and brought water to arid Southern California. Catherine Mulholland (1923-2011) authored several books. Photograph dated March 26, 2002.
