The San Fernando Valley Board of Realtors participated in the City of Los Angeles' Civil Defense program by offering their facilites for use in emergencies and sending volunteers to attend training sessions in light rescue.
Photograph caption dated September 10, 1958 reads, "Looking over brochure for civil defense rescue training course in which some of their members will soon be engaged are officers of the San Fernando Board of Realtors, left to right, Rodney Longdon, civil defense chairman, Fred Lamping, president, and Lee Marr, secretary-treasurer."
