Photograph caption reads: "Shelley Long, 3, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George H. Long, 225 S. Lomita St., Burbank, examines new historical monument for Burbank's schools as Joe L. Shell, Grand Master of California Masons, and Mrs. Mary Stafford, president of Burbank Board of Education, chat after Masonic presentation. Marker commemorates first public school, built in 1879". The marker reads: "This marker commemorates the first public school erected in Burbank in 1879. This commemorative markers was erected in 1960 by Burbank Lodge No. 406, Magnolia ... Lodge No. 715, Free and Accepted Masons of the State of California". Photograph dated: April 18, 1960.
