Woman on left is seen from the back. She wears a light blue morning dress with long sleeves and an empire waist. The dress is trimmed with white fur with black spots, possibly ermine, at the hem and cuffs and with white ruffles at the shoulders and collar. The woman wears blue boots and yellow gloves. She has a black poke bonnet that ties under the chin with a black ribbon. The crown is trimmed with black plumes and a black bow, while the brim is edged with a white ruffle. The woman is pointing at the woman on the right who is seated. She wears a white evening dress with small puffed sleeves and an empire waist. The dress has white rosettes with flowers and swags along the hem, and white bows and ruffles decorate the sleeves and edge the low neck. Her gloves and shoes are white. She wears a strand of pearls around her neck and has white bows, ribbons, and pale blue flowers in her hair.
