Original photograph has several small stains.
Photograph caption dated September 14, 1956 reads "Assemblyman Everett Burkhalter prepares to cut ribbon officially opening Valley Plaza traffic islands near Oxnard street and Laurel Canyon boulevard in North Hollywood with host of civic leaders. Among those assisting him are R. S. Craig, district engineer; Norman Caldwell, manager of Valley May Co. store; John Price, W. J. Brunmark and H. J. Penfield Jr. of North Hollywood Chamber of Commerce."
