Description
Mayor Norris Poulson presents proclamation designating Feb. 12-19 as Negro History Week (now called Black History Week). Receiving the proclamation are Mrs. Vassie D. Wright, president of Our Authors Study Club, sponsor of the week and Dr. LeRoy Weekes, co-chairman of the week. Photo dated: February 7, 1956.
