Photograph caption dated October 25, 1950 reads, "Participating in official opening of Community Chest Service Center in Van Nuys are left to right, F. M. Gettys, Lynn D. Mowat, Harry Masser, Ferdinand Mendenhall and Barney Ruben." The article partially reads, "San Fernando Valley residents turned out en masse for the official dedication of the new Community Chest Service Center, 14419 Burbank Blvd., Van Nuys. The Center is unique in that it is the only one in Southern California which will house seven or more Red Feather agencies, as well as the Community Chest headquarters for the Valley area."
