Description
Presents arguments and supporting "data" to assert that the claim that "America is a white man's country" is "un-American"; that the Government must make a greater effort to supply housing and financial aid for people who are resettling; that those opposing resettlement are "making a mockery of our war aim to ensure justice and freedom"; and that the church and "other public-spirited citizens" should help to defend the rights of minorities and encourage people who are resettling to "join in their activities and membership." The document refers people to the Pacific Coast Committee on American Principles and Fair Play, with offices in Berkeley and Los Angeles, for more information.
Many non-governmental groups sought redress for Japanese Americans incarcerated during World War II. This collection contains reports, correspondence, publicity, and other documents issued by the Committee on Resettlement of Japanese Americans, National Japanese American Student Relocation Council, Pacific Coast Committee on American Principles and Fair Play, YMCA, American Friends Service Committee, and Japanese American Citizens League. These groups sought to provide relief and support for incarcerated Japanese Americans.
